Water pressure, pumps and tanks in Torrevieja
If the shower is weak, the water arrives in bursts or a basement floods, the problem lies in the pressure or the pumping. I check reducers, booster sets, pumps, tanks and cisterns until I find the cause.

What I do
Water pressure depends on several parts at once: the mains, the reducer, the booster set and the tank or cistern if there is one. That is why I do not replace anything without first measuring how the water arrives and how it behaves at each point in the property.
Water pressure and flow problems
If the shower is weak or water arrives in surges, the cause may be the network, a faulty reducer or a clogged pipe. I diagnose it so the cause is fixed, not just the symptom.
Low pressure can come from the supply connection, a faulty pressure reducer, a tank with sediment or a pipe furred with limescale. Before changing anything I measure and check where the flow is being lost.
When the problem is in the internal installation, I propose the repair or replacement needed. If it depends on the network, I explain what the utility company can do and what falls to you.
Pressure reducer installation
Mains pressure that is too high wears out pipes, seals and appliances. I install a pressure reducer that brings it to the right level for your home.
The reducer goes at the entrance to the internal installation and keeps pressure steady even when the mains rises. That extends the life of taps, water heaters and washing machines and reduces leaks.
Before fitting I measure the incoming pressure and set it to the value your installation needs. I explain the model, where it goes and what the quote includes.
Booster set and water pump installation and repair
When the mains does not give enough pressure to upper floors or a premises, a booster set solves it. I install, repair or adjust it so water reaches every point.
A booster set has a pump, a pressure vessel and controls. If the pump starts and stops constantly, or water does not reach the upper floors, the fault may be in the pressure switch, the diaphragm or the pump itself.
I check each element and explain what is failing and what should be done: repair, replace the pump or size a new unit. You get a quote with the model specified.
Drainage pump installation
A basement, a garage or a low area that floods needs a drainage pump to remove the water before it causes damage. I choose it according to the flow and depth.
The drainage pump sits in a sump or basin with a float switch and discharges the water to the drain or the network. The flow has to be enough for the water coming in, and the system should have a backup if the power fails.
I explain the sizing, the installation point and the connection to the drain. The quote covers the pump, the sump if needed and commissioning with a test run.
Water tank and cistern installation and maintenance
A tank or cistern that is not serviced builds up sediment and loses its seal. I install, clean and maintain it so the stored water stays safe and reaches taps with good pressure.
Maintenance covers the condition of the tank, the lid, the floats, the valves and the connections. I also check that light and dirt cannot get in, which matters for the quality of the stored water.
If a new tank has to be installed, I size it according to the consumption of the home or premises, and set up the system with its fill valve and its connection to the booster set.
When it is worth calling me
- The shower is weak or a container takes a long time to fill
- Water hammer or pipe noise when taps are shut off
- The pump starts and stops continuously
- A basement or garage that fills with water in rain or from the water table
- The tank has sediment, a smell or the water is discoloured
- Water arrives in surges or with noise in the pipes
How I fix it
- 1
I measure pressure and flow at the inlet and at the outlets.
- 2
I find the part or section causing the problem and explain it to you.
- 3
I install, repair or adjust the equipment once you have approved the quote.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if the problem is the network or my home?
If flow is low across the whole property, it may be the network or the connection. If only one point is affected, it is usually the internal installation. I check on the visit.
What pressure is right for a home?
It depends on the installation and the appliances. A moderate value protects the pipes without reducing comfort. I set it for your situation.
How long does a water pump last?
It depends on use and maintenance. A correctly sized and serviced unit lasts longer. I tell you whether repair or replacement makes more sense.
Can a drainage pump handle waste water?
Not all of them. Waste water pumps are different from clean water drainage pumps. I recommend the correct model for the use.
How often should a water tank be cleaned?
Check it at least once a year, or sooner if you notice sediment or changes in the water. I give you the schedule based on use.
Will raising the pressure fix it?
Not always. Raising the pressure without checking the cause can damage pipes and taps. I diagnose first and decide afterwards.
Does a pressure reducer need maintenance?
It is worth checking it from time to time to confirm it holds the pressure and has no sediment. I tell you when I fit it.
Do you install booster sets in communities?
Yes, for communities and premises. I size the unit according to the number of homes and the expected consumption.
